Sustainability: 'a way of business, a way of life'

Business sustainability requires an organisation to consider the economic, social and environmental context in which it operates. Functional Whole Foods NZ Ltd is built on sustainable practices, right from day one, David and the team have been passionate about making our impact big on the wellbeing of our customers and small on the planet.

We achieve environment sustainability through everything that we do; we do all we can to minimise our impact on the environment. We use only recyclable materials in our packaging, all of our bottles and pottles are made from high food grade HDPE plastics which are BPA free. We do our best to encourage our customers to recycle through our labelling and marks on our bottles.

From our partnerships with local organic farmers, through to AsureQuality and JAS organic certifications, every step of our business is designed to care for the environment. Organic certification in New Zealand requires strict guidelines to be adhered to. This is everything from what cleaning products we use, to making sure that chain of custody is in place so that every seed is handled appropriately from start to finish. Sustainability in the environment means our production practices minimise waste, water usage and energy use.

Successful sustainable businesses are those that embed these principles into every aspect of their business: in their long-term planning, day-to-day operations, and interactions with customers, staff and suppliers. We believe that at Functional Whole Foods we have and will continue to achieve this and be truly sustainable.
